Fremantle College STEM

The new STEM Lab at Fremantle College provides a spacious and engaging learning environment designed to support the school’s marine studies program. The facility has been carefully planned to encourage collaboration, exploration and hands-on learning, creating a contemporary space that inspires curiosity and discovery.

Drawing inspiration from Fremantle’s coastal setting, the design incorporates vibrant blue accents that reflect the colours of the nearby ocean, while a flowing floor pattern references the form of the Swan River. Prominent blue linear windows introduce a unique quality of natural light into the space, enhancing the learning environment and reinforcing the project’s connection to water and place.

The overall design responds to the requirements of the school’s specialist STEM curriculum, the established architectural language of the campus, and project budget considerations. The result is a functional and distinctive learning facility that supports innovative education while strengthening Fremantle College’s identity as a leader in marine studies.
