Stage 1, 2007 – Stage 7, 2015
Stage 1 Junior School Buildings
The first two buildings for the Junior School of this K-12 campus were designed upon the concept of 6-8 classrooms built off a large covered and conditioned break-out communal space that was visually connected to the outdoor play areas. Large concrete tilt-panels bookend the buildings and help control the east-west light/heat gain, while providing a sense of massing and permanence.
Stage 2 Admin, Library, Staffroom Buildings
Once the School had grown large enough to need more space beyond the two early learning buildings, the next stage was to create a dedicated administration building, with a larger staffroom. Again, flexibility was critical to these new builds, with the initial usage of these spaces being designed to host other functions of classrooms, and then over time, as these classrooms find homes amongst specialist buildings, that the main intent of the building takes over.
Stage 3 Science Building
The School’s first second storey building was designed with lift access and with the future ability to connect out to an adjacent building. This new learning block featured larger specialist classrooms on the lower floor, and smaller GLA’s with a large flexible collaborative area upstairs for the beginnings of the senior students as the School grew.
Stage 4 Multi-Purpose Gymnasium
Built as part of the Government’s BER program (under $3m), this facility provided the School with a large double-indoor court for multiple sports, rock climbing, school assemblies and drama performances. Features double-height volume and natural lighting as part of a 2 storey staged development.
Stage 6 D&T Building
The next specialist building for the School provided them with a dedication Design and Technology section, with metalworks, woodworks and associated design facilities. The other half of the building was Food Technology, a commercial kitchen, and a new Canteen with a second commercial kitchen. In addition to these facilities was a dedicated IT Hub and multi-purpose boardroom, overlooking the development’s lake.
Stage 7 Senior Classrooms & Hardcourts
Two new classroom buildings with a central landscaped courtyard ties this new senior facility into the existing campus and overlooks the ovals.
